Glass bottle

Description
Green glass bottle. Mallet shaped with long neck and concave base. The very top and bottom of the object are black. The finish is coarse and the glass is opaque. Glass bottles were used to store a variety of liquids ranging from medicines to wine and brandy. This particular example however was used to store Madeira wine; with the ships officers often bringing their own wine aboard the ship in glass bottles.
