Bowl
Description
A wooden bowl, dark in colour. A flat base and several carved grooves on outside and inside. Letters HI/IH carved on the inside. The men could be provided with wooden spoons and bowls by the boatswain, but generally they preferred to buy their own. The food eaten on board the Invincible included salt beef, pork, ship’s biscuit, butter, cheese and peas.
