Madeira Bottle

Description
Green translucent glass bottle, empty. Long neck with double lip top, bulbous main body and dimple underneath. Glass bottles were used to store a variety of liquids ranging from medicines to wine and brandy. This particular example however was used to store Madeira wine; with the ships officers often bringing their own wine aboard the ship in glass bottles.
