Caulking Iron

Description
Caulking iron - sometimes called a setting or set iron used by a Caulker to drive (caulking in) the oakum strands picked from old rope into the seams between the ship's hull and deck planking. The fan-shaped blade can be either blunt or sharp. This caulking iron is inscribed with a picture of a kangaroo and the words RUB......SHEFFIELD and a mark of a cross and a dash.
