Parting Stick

Description
Ex D.F.Ellwood and Son, used in twine making. Twelve strands of yarn would be attached, one to each ring. The maker would then walk down the ropewalk laying the yarns into the racks. When the end was reached, the yarns would be tied to loopers in threes or fours and the maker would walk backwards as the machine twisted the yarns,the parting stick now acting as a top.
