Tiller covered with rope work. This is the tiller of the lifeboat from the Armed Merchant Cruiser HMS Corinthia, torpedoed during WW2, it was saved and later covered by Surgeon Commander The Honorable A.G Gathorne Hardy, who was serving on the ship at the time.
