H M Submarine C17

C17 was one of 38 C-class submarines built for the Royal Navy in the first part of the 20th century.

She was built in Chatham Dockyard, laid down in 1907 and was commissioned in 1909.

She collided with C16 in the North Sea, south of Cromer, Norfolk on the 14th July 1909, and in May 1917 she then collided with the destroyer Lurcher and sank. She was eventually retrieved and repaired, but was sold for scrap on the 20th November 1919.
